Eugene Gicheru, MD, FACEP, to assume CEO role effective September 16, 2026
Dallas, Texas — July 28, 2027— Aligned Providers, an emergency medicine and hospital medicine contract management services company, today announced that President and CEO Janie Jaberg will retire from her day-to-day leadership role effective September 15, 2026. Eugene Gicheru, MD, FACEP, will succeed Jaberg as CEO.
Jaberg brings more than 30 years of executive healthcare leadership experience to her retirement, including the past five years as CEO of Aligned Providers. Throughout her career, she has held executive leadership and chief executive officer roles within investor-owned, independent, public, private and rural healthcare organizations.
A respected industry leader, Jaberg has served on numerous boards and has been a frequent national speaker on healthcare strategy, physician alignment, operations and leadership. Her career has been marked by a commitment to strengthening healthcare organizations, supporting physicians and hospital partners, and advancing access to quality care in the communities they serve. Her guiding principle throughout her career has been, and will always remain, “Patients First.”
During her tenure with Aligned Providers, Jaberg helped guide the company’s growth and development while strengthening its commitment to meaningful alignment among hospitals, providers, staff and patients. Her leadership supported the organization’s clinically driven approach to hospital partnerships, provider engagement and operational performance.

Over the past five years, I have been fortunate to work alongside an exceptional team, dedicated physician partners and hospital leaders to build an organization focused on supporting providers, strengthening healthcare delivery and creating lasting value for our partners. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together and of the strong foundation we have built for the future.
I am especially grateful to our owners, physician partners, Board members, hospital partners and team members whose trust, collaboration and friendship have made this such a rewarding part of my career. As I begin this next chapter, I look forward to spending more time with my husband, traveling and enjoying the special moments that come with being a mother and grandmother. While I am stepping away from day-to-day leadership, I remain deeply invested in the future success of Aligned Providers and look forward to continuing to support the organization as a member of the Board.”
Dr. Gicheru will assume the CEO role on September 16, providing continuity through his experience as a physician executive, co-founder and established leader within Aligned Providers. His clinical background, organizational knowledge, and understanding of the company’s hospital partnerships and provider teams will help guide Aligned Providers through its next phase of growth.
